About Scott Burd

A Rolfer, an athlete, and a lifelong mover.

I've practiced Rolfing since 2011. The years I've spent working with clients—and the miles I've spent on trails and bikes—both influence the attention I bring to the table.

Hi, I’m Scott.

I became a Certified Rolfer® through the Rolf Institute in 2011. What has kept me interested all these years is that no two people move, feel, or respond to hands-on work in quite the same way. I've worked with people seeking relief from recurring tension, athletes managing the demands of training, and others who simply want to move more comfortably.

Some come in because a particular area feels restricted. Others are navigating the demands of an active life, or simply want to move with greater awareness. I don't assume the same approach will work for everyone.

Experience has made me more observant, but it has also taught me not to assume that the same technique or explanation fits everyone.

The athlete’s perspective.

I'm an ultrarunner and endurance cyclist. Long hours on trails and bikes have taught me something about repetition, adaptation, fatigue, and recovery. They have also taught me that being fit doesn't mean being free of limitations.

Recovering from a serious mountain biking accident deepened my interest in how bodies respond to change. Those experiences help me understand the commitment of training and the frustration of feeling limited in a body you depend on. They don't make every client's experience the same as mine.

Whether you run hundred-mile races, walk around your neighborhood, or spend long hours at a desk, your relationship with movement matters.

What you can expect from me

I bring years of hands-on practice, a trained eye for structural relationships, and an interest in what changes when we approach an area differently. I also pay attention to what you notice. The goal isn't to impose an ideal posture; it's to find what is useful for your body and your life.
