Recurring tension
You might notice the same area tightening after a workday, ride, run, or ordinary activity—and want to understand the broader pattern.
Rolfing Structural Integration combines skilled hands-on work with movement awareness. The goal is to explore how your body's parts work together—not just the area calling for attention.
Rolfing® Structural Integration is a form of bodywork developed by Dr. Ida Rolf. It uses skilled touch and movement awareness to explore how the body organizes itself in gravity and in motion.
Rather than focusing only on the area where you feel discomfort, we look at the relationships among different parts of the body. Your feet, hips, rib cage, shoulders, and breath all participate in how you move.
Fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and links muscles and other structures—is central to this work. During a session, I use sustained, specific contact and may ask you to make small movements as we work. Your sensations and feedback help guide the pace and direction.

Training, desk work, old injuries, and daily routines can shape the way we stand and move.
You don't have to be in pain to explore how you stand, breathe, walk, and carry yourself.
Massage and Rolfing can both involve skilled hands-on touch. Rolfing places particular emphasis on the relationships among different parts of the body, postural organization, and how movement feels. A session may involve focused work in areas beyond the spot that first brought you in. It is not simply a fixed sequence of massage strokes.
Rolfing is often associated with a traditional sequence of ten sessions, each with a different structural emphasis. That framework can be useful for people interested in exploring the whole body over time, but it is not a requirement. Individual sessions are also an option.
Rolfing is not medical diagnosis or a guaranteed treatment for pain or injury. If you have an active injury or medical concern, check with your healthcare professional about whether bodywork is appropriate.
